Perfection Takes Experimentation

Volt and Iron Guardian wake up in a dark room, no light, all they can tell is it's cold and the floor beneath their feet is dirt.

They don't know how they got there, where they are or anything that happened in the past day.

Chris woke up tired and barely able to move, the floor was freezing so he sat up, he could see nothing but assumed he slept at a friend's house or something he just didn't know who.

They heard a enthusiastic but calm voice from what they can only assume is a speaker in the room they're in. "Hello heroes, I'm sure you have plenty of questions and I have plenty of answers but first, I need you to do something for me. A man will be coming to you shortly, he will lead you somewhere, I wish for you to follow him. You don't need to but lives that aren't yours will be on the line if you don't. That'll be all, if you wish to escape without following him, the man has keys to an exit and you'll be free, if you are heroes though, I doubt you'll take that route."

Chris tensed up realizing it wasn't his friends house after all, "well shit" he said quietly. "Wait, heroes as in multiple? Who else is here"

"What the hell..?" Trent asked, rubbing sleep, and dirt, out of his eyes. He stood up, wobbly in the darkness. "Who else is in here?" He asked, not being able to see who he shared the room with. Inside, he was hoping for Chris, so that he could light this unnaturally dark room.

Chris emitted lightning around his body to light up the room. However his lightning was white and was much brighter than his normal blue lightning.

It hurt their eyes for a moment as they were in pitch black darkness, the room around them was completely concrete, no sign of an exit, just a dirt floor with bugs crawling in it and a concrete box for walls and a ceiling.

"Could have given me a warning." Trent said, his hand above his eyes to shield the light. He squinted, and let out a sigh of relief. "Thank god It's someone who actually does something in the team." He said. A small grin forming, but quickly fading as he noted that there were no exits. "And how the hell is this guy supposed to come get us if it's nothing but concrete?"

Chris jolted up pretty disgusted at the room they were in, he hated being trapped and also bugs. All he wondered was why anyone would put him here. "Sorry I thought the brightness was appropriate, but I don't know" he paused "if they got us in here they can get us out"

"That's true. Unless they built the room around us. But if that's the case, who the hell knows how long we've been in here. We could be in a vault like in fallout. For now, let's just call it Vault 69." Trent said, awkwardly laughing afterward. He always tried to lighten the mood, even in situations like this. It was how he coped.

Chris just looked at Trent with a puzzled expression.

The walls shook and then the ceiling lifted up, revealing a naturally lit room, after that the walls descended into the dirt. Once the walls lowered, it showed a hallway filled with other concrete rooms presumably filled with other people, as well as a concrete floor covering the hallway and ceiling made of concrete but had lanterns hanging off it to light the way.

There was a man in front of them, blindfolded he had no shirt on and was covered in scars, a shaved head and a raggidy torn up pants. Perhaps the most odd thing was he had a number branded on his neck, he looked tortured but his face was emotionless. He had a weak voice and said "Will you please follow me?" he had keys on him to escape if they so desired.

Trent silently nodded, stepping forward, observing the guy as he did. He decided just to follow him, wanting to figure out why there were here, and what the hell was the reason for all of the other concrete death boxes.

Chris followed Trent though he kept his lightning around him for quick defense if anything went south

When they both left the concrete room, the man clasped his hands together and the concrete room they were just in reformed, only with them out of it this time. "Follow me please." he led them down the hallway, there was no noises in the room except the sound of Chris and Trent breathing, their footsteps and the jangling of the keys on the mans waist.

They reached the first thing that wasn't concrete but it was metal, a door. The man asked them "This is your last chance to escape, are you certain?"

"If it means we save lives we have to stay" Chris said after a long pause as he was very uncertain.

"As you wish." He used one hand to shove open the metal door and on the other side was a man, young, early 20s or late teens. He dirty blonde hair slicked back, he was sitting in a leather chair at the end of the room, the room was pure white as a contrast to the dirtiness of the hallway. There was nothing else in the room but the man and his chair, he jumped off his seat "Please come in, I'm sure you have many questions, and I shall award you coming to me, with answers!"

Trent raised an eyebrow at the guy, wondering what in the hell was going on. "So you mean to tell me, you run all of this?" He asked, motioning towards the door, and true horror that probably lay in the concrete rooms.

Chris walked in and asked the first thing on his mind "Why are you doing this?" He asked with concern

He walks up to Trent and extend his hand to shake their hands "Yes actually, this is all mine, the name is One, nice to meet you." as he got closer, you could see he had a branding on his neck, but the number was 001, he also wore a v neck t-shirt and jeans as well as socks, he looked very casual.

Then he heard Chris's question (Was typing this out when Cy posted) and One replied "I'll answer that in a sec, in fact I'll answer every question you guys have but first, would you like something to drink, like tea? I find it calms the nerves and you two look tense, I'm not a tea guy myself but I'm perfectly calm so I don't need it."

"What is this, Code name kids next door?" Trent said under his breath, shaking the mans hand awkwardly. "Tea's fine.." He said, questioning this guys legit motive.

Chris never let his guard down "Uh water?" he said uncomfortably.

He snapped at the man who brought them there like an animal "37, get him tea and the other one water." the man walked into the white empty room and walked towards a wall. He raised his hand up and the wall raised up, behind it was various food products, including tea and a boiling water maker (Cause boiling water in a pot is hard work) One started walking back to the chair and then turned to them "Please, sit, you are guests." despite sitting that, he sat on the only chair in the room leaving them only the floor.

Chris found it smart to sit on the floor and listen to what the man said.

Trent sat down on the floor, just now realizing he had his backpack on that contained his stealth suit. "Wait a second. You do know who we are right? I'm assuming you do, and since Chris already showed off his power. Why'd you allow me my backpack? It contains an iron suit, and I could blow this places to bits of concrete in minutes. If you're going to kidnap us, why treat us with such respect and trust?"
